Thank you for choosing The French Lab for your French language education. To ensure a smooth enrollment process and clear understanding of our policies, please read the following carefully.

1. Placement Test Requirement

If you are a new student, you are required to complete a placement test before registering for classes. This ensures you are enrolled at the appropriate level for your skills. Registration without completing the placement test may result in forfeiture of your registration fee.

2. Class Cancellation by The French Lab

Full refunds are only issued if The French Lab cancels a class and may occur due to unforeseen emergencies or low enrollment (minimum enrollment of 3 students per class is required for both core and themed classes).

3. Withdrawal, Refunds & Credits for Group Classes

All withdrawal and refund requests must be submitted in writing by email to admin@thefrenchlabclasses.com . Phone calls or absence from class do not constitute formal withdrawal.

  • Withdrawals received at least 7 days prior to the course start date: Full refund minus a $25 administrative processing fee.

  • Withdrawals received less than 7 days before the course start date and up to the end of the second class: No refund. A TFL credit for the class or remaining portion of the course, minus a $25 processing fee.
  • Withdrawals received after the second class have been concluded: No refund. A TFL credit will be issued maximum of 50% of the course. The remaining balance will be credited toward another course or private tutoring sessions minus a $25 processing fee.
    TFL credit is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
  • Books (Textbook + Activity Book) are non-refundable (purchased independently by customers).

4. Withdrawal, Refunds & Credits for Private Tutoring

  • Students must notify both The French Lab admin team at admin@thefrenchlabclasses.com and their instructor at least 24 hours in advance to cancel a private lesson without charge.
  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
  • For the private tutoring packages:
        • If withdrawal occurs before the 5th lesson, a refund will be issued for the remaining classes, minus a $65 processing fee.
        • If cancellation occurs after completing half of the lessons, no refund will be provided.
  • Payment plans are available for the 20-hour private tutoring package and must be arranged before lessons commence.

Note: “Refunds or credits will be processed within 14 business days from the date of approval.”

Important information’s to Note:

  • There are no refunds, credits, or make-up classes for missed classes.
  • All refunds or credits will be processed within 14 business days upon approval.
  • The French Lab is not responsible for students’ inability to attend classes due to personal, medical, travel, or technological reasons.
  • TFL credits are non-transferable and may only be used by the original purchaser.
  • In the event of natural disasters, internet outages, pandemics, or events beyond our control, The French Lab reserves the right to modify the schedule or format of classes without liability.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to ensure a reliable internet connection and appropriate technology for virtual classes.
  • The French Lab currently provides services exclusively within the U.S. [all 50 states] and does not extend services to U.S. territories at this time.

Additional Policy Standards

Please read and review this additional information thoroughly. By registering for any course or service offered by The French Lab, you acknowledge that you have understood and agreed to the terms outlined in this Refunds, Credits, and Course Changes Policy.

  • Acknowledgment of Policy
    By enrolling in a course or package, students acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these policies.

  • Dispute Resolution Clause
    Any disputes arising from this policy will be governed by the applicable local laws. Both parties agree to attempt to resolve any issues through informal discussion and mutual agreement before initiating any formal legal proceedings.

  • No Guarantee of Results
    The French Lab does not guarantee specific outcomes or fluency levels. Progress depends on individual commitment and participation.

  • Credit Usage Scope
    Credits may only be applied to future classes or tutoring services and cannot be used for merchandise, books, or transferred to another person.

  • Communication Policy
    All official communication regarding class changes, cancellations, or refund requests must be submitted via email. Messages sent via text, social media, zoom, or in-person are not valid for official purposes.

  • Instructor Cancellation Policy
    If an instructor must cancel a class, a makeup lesson will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.

  • Technology Responsibility
    Students are responsible for ensuring access to a stable internet connection, working webcam, microphone, and compatible device for online courses.

  • Time Zone Notice
    All classes are listed in Eastern Time (ET/UTC-5) unless otherwise stated. It is the student’s responsibility to adjust for their respective time zone across all U.S. states.
